Service Description

Spend a week transforming organic materials into paper! During the week you will have the opportunity to participate in three paper-based workshops. Activities will consist of collage, press flowers, make your own paper, and make a set of cards from the materials you made earlier in the week! I have personally found that cards and the art of paper making have become relevant during quarantine as letter writing is one way I have reached out to family and friends. Participants will make their own cards from their hand-made paper! As a recent graduate from Wheaton College in Massachusetts with a degree in Visual Arts and Economics I wrote letters every week to my friends and family across the country. Adhering to social distancing guidelines, only 6 participants will be allowed to sign up for this week-long opportunity. In addition, there is a 60 dollar material cost built into the cost of instruction. This is due to every student getting their very own tools and safety gear. I am prioritizing and adhering to the social distancing guidelines that is why there is a limited amount of participants allowed. This class will take place in my backyard in NE Portland (two blocks from grant park) There will be a hand washing station outdoors and I would recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated! The age recommendation for this session 8 and Up! These projects are scalable and I will find ways to make them engaging for you! (These projects are scalable to different abilities and they will be engaging for students this age. I am super excited to make paper from scratch, collage, and art with you! Monday: collage and flower collection Wednesday: papermaking Friday: card making Any further questions please reach out!
